The Eight-Day Sichuan-Tibet Extreme Cycling Challenge (referred to as "Eight-Day Sichuan-Tibet") is one of the world's toughest long-distance cycling challenges, alongside RAAM (Race Across America) and PBP (Paris-Brest-Paris). Every year on May 21st at midnight, cyclists set off from Chengdu to Lhasa, covering a distance of 2160 kilometers. The route traverses 14 high mountains, 12 of which exceed 4000 meters in elevation, and 2 of which are over 5000 meters. The Eight-Day Sichuan-Tibet is an original Chinese extreme non-stop cycling event. Notably, in 2018, the challenge evolved into the "Five-Day Sichuan-Tibet" challenge (Hou Weiyu: 5 days, 17 hours, and 26 minutes).

At midnight on May 21st, 11 riders set off from Chengdu for the 11th edition (2024) of the Eight-Day Sichuan-Tibet Extreme Cycling Challenge. With reverence for nature and a spirit of self-transcendence, they head westward, riding with the wind.

"Fortune Smiles on the Brave"

The collaboration between PARDUS and the Eight-Day Sichuan-Tibet Extreme Challenge dates back to 2020, when they jointly launched the "Fortune Smiles" special edition product. The frame's black-red gradient paint, coupled with outstanding performance, garnered widespread acclaim from race enthusiasts and PARDUS consumers.

This year, the partnership has deepened with the launch of a complete bike featuring the same "Fortune Smiles" design. The bike utilizes the renowned PARDUS SUPER series endurance geometry, continuing the classic black-red gradient design.

Equipped with the Shimano R7120 12-speed mechanical shifting kit and a fully integrated cable routing layout, the complete bike is priced at just 1,799 USD.

"The front of the head tube bears the logo of the Eight-Day Sichuan-Tibet challenge."

"The front end of the top tube features a design symbolizing another layer of meaning of the Eight-Day Sichuan-Tibet challenge: two eagles, one large and one small, representing the passing of the torch from old to new, ensuring the legacy continues."

The aim is for the Eight-Day Sichuan-Tibet challenge to establish a solid foundation for becoming a century-long event.

The Tibetan inscription on the front of the top tube reads the challenge's motto: "I will never regret my choice."

"PARDUS salutes the warriors who dare to challenge themselves! Salutes to the pioneers who dare to innovate!"

The Eight-Day Sichuan-Tibet challenge is not about conventional results but about the journey of chasing the light. Regardless of the final outcome, those who choose to challenge themselves are heroes.

PARDUS wishes every brave participant success in achieving their dreams!
